Peter Peter Pumpkin Eater

Quick Sketch from my weekly journal.  Loving the fall colors and pumpkins, gourds, pine cones, cooler weather and cozy sweaters.

Posting this quick sketch, as well as a few of the others over this past month, has been a new path for me.  I'm actually quite proud of myself for participating in Blogtoberfest in October and posting every single day.  I realized over this past month that creating SOMETHING every day is not really my issue but posting is a real challenge for me.

One of the things that I continue to struggle with is what is the point of it? This month I've tried to let go of that and have just looked at it as a way to chronicle and share my creative process whatever that happens to be in the moment.  Viewing it that way freed me up to post the one minute or five minute sketches from my journal pages without a need for explanation or apologies or feeling like I needed a huge hunk of time set aside to post.

So, I'm going to try to keep going with Art Every Day Month (AEDM), hosted by Leah, throughout the month of November.  If I don't make every day, I'm not going to stress over it... But it can't hurt to try!

Also linking to Sunday Sketches-- always a great way to enjoy a Sunday!

  6. I can relate! I've decided to think of it as a creative version of Yoga or Running. Something I've always done and always will do and trust that it will jut make my life better.

  7. I love your art and I know what you mean...but I think there doesn't always need to be a point...or the point is simply that you enjoy creating and sharing. I love what Mitzi said about the creative version of yoga or running. It makes sense to me too.

  15. what you learnt through Blogtoberfest this year is exactly what I got out of AEDM last year... it is just great to share your work with your friends and people who share your interests... it keeps you accountable more than anything, and stops you being too precious... I love that aspect of it... bet you cruise through this month as well... xx

  19. The point of it is it opens your eyes to what you see all around you, it makes you appreciate colors, shadows and shapes more then ever before and it keeps you off the street and helps you make a lot of of artist friends. Keep up the good work and visit my blog sometime. www.barbararoth.blogspot.com
