Alcatraz

I was surprised, when visiting San Francisco, at how Alcatraz seemed so close.  In fact, my mom was amazed that the prisoners couldn't all just swim away-- she was certain she would have been able to! :-)

    Woah! What a great subject, and I love how you captured the prison. The way you illustrated it, it just looks like another interesting piece of architecture on the shoreline.

    Lovely sketch! That's one place I'd love to visit, but it always reminds me of one of my favorite movies..."The Rock" :)

    Oh yeah the Alcatraz! I wondered if one can swim or not, but the fact it. the pacific at sf bay is brutally cold year round, i was told that its could just kill if one plunged into the water. Very nice painting, love the inspiration n ur work!
