Grids of zendoodles

I'm still rather intrigued by the idea of zendoodles.  My jury is out on how zen I find them to be... but I am truly amazed by the intricate artwork that I've seen created with them.  I have been playing with the different designs a little bit, but have not quite figured out how to create something where the patterns run together in amazing feats of escher-like perception exercises that I've seen others create.

The one above was just doodled into my sketchbook.  The ones below were done on separate zentangly, 3x3 squares and then just arranged and rearranged loosely against a piece of cardstock.

Linking up to Sunday Sketches for a closing-out-the-weekend treat!

  1. yes, i'd say you are right up there with the best of the zenites. I especially like the one that looks like noodles to me or tiny scrolls.

  2. I'm not too sure about zen either. When you've had a glass of wine and look at them too intently they tend to send you a bit doolally!!

    They are very good mind...!

  5. Wow I can't even begin to imagine how time consuming these babies were. But they came out beautifully. My favorite is the one with squiggly lines intersecting the piece to create 16 boxes of individual patterns.
