Bicycle

Last weekend, I was sitting at Barnes & Noble-- one of my favorite places to sit-- and saw this bicycle outside.  I love bicycles. I associate them with wonderful things-- nostalgia, freedom, energy, family, health, travel, etc...  I particularly love the classic cruisers with a big ol' basket on the front and a bell to ring.  I'm sure I'll be drawing one like that at some point soon.

In the meantime, this is EDM #35.  As I expected, I have begun jumping around a bit, focusing on different items on the list in no particular order, either due to interest or opportunity.

I'm also linking up with my talented pals over at Paint Party Friday!  Have a great weekend!

  12. I would love a sky blue bike like this... I can't actually ride a bike... seriously that would be a major accident just waiting to happen... but if I could then this would be the bike for me...xx

  14. hello molly, thanks for visiting my blog. i am with ppf #35 melinda alpha
is Roadmaster really on that bike? (smile) i would not know a thing about bikes. i don't ride one, don't know how. although my hubby bought me one many years ago just so i could enjoy biking around the park in front of the house. ooooh, i fell off it! no broken bones thannk God, but that was the end of it. my bike became a decorative plant holder. ha!ha!ha! it was in our former house and the new owner begged for me to leave it where it is. he just loved the way it was nicely keeping quiet at a corner. and yes, he does not know how to ride a bike either. ha,ha,ha! anyway, have a wonderful weekend!

  18. I always picture a hill and me sweating profoundly when I see a bike. :)) I always lived in places where it took a hill to get to it so it was never my favorite thing to do. Great illustration!

  21. Great Bike, Yay! In my opinion, jumping around the list is the best way to approach it. I tend to follow it then stop for months and then start at the latest item. I miss so much. We all play a different way. Great blog.

  24. I love your bike. It brings back such great memories.

Whenever I see your header it reminds me of a place in Florida that we visited often. It's a great reminder of a place I love.

  25. Great bike. They do have great lines to work with, and for me, such great memories. I always smile when I'm on my bike (I am more the beach cruiser sort of biker).

  26. Your description of the feeling a bike conjures up is so true. I had never thought of it until I read this, but looking at a bike immediately takes me back to long summer days with the wind blowing through my hair.

Your painting totally makes me want to jump on that bike and pedal off for an adventure.

  27. Love your bike, Molly. If that were a girl's bike, I'd be drooling. I long for the old fashioned coaster bike, maybe because I just don't trust those handle brakes and those confounded gears that I have no need for. Your rendition brings back wonderful memories of days gone by.
