I'm trying to work in some very quick 1 minute and 5 minutes sketches to get better at loosening up. I'm hoping it will help me to look more closely at things and, ultimately, will help me to capture perspective better and more quickly.

ReplyDeleteYou've got me thinking say you study the object for 5 minutes then draw it for one minute, what then? I've really been thinking about the way we observe our subjects before the pen hits the paper. Your drawing reminds me of an elephant trunk with all the details.
ReplyDeleteGreat sketch. It is so easy to get caught up in the detail and spend too much much time. I like the idea of putting a time limit on!
